  9.   The  weak link  in electronics in your
  10. car is spark plug  wires.  The  heat  of
  11. the engine, spilling oil on them or just
  12. cheap wires will break wires down.      
  13.   It goes without saying that  the  more
  14. expensive spark plug wires will  outlast
  15. others.  (Watching to catch them on sale
  16. can save you a few bucks.)              
  17.   Look at the routing of the  wires  and
  18. see that none of them touch hot parts of
  19. the engine.  It's not only  bad  because
  20. of heat but  road  vibration  can  cause
  21.

  25. Then you have an engine miss.  The
  26. spark is now  going to  the engine
  27. instead of the plugs.              
  28.   If you have a miss  and  suspect
  29. the wires, raise the hood at night
  30. in a dark area & start the engine.
  31. Look closely in the area of wires.
  32. If you have a shorted wire, you'll 
  33. see a spark  and  know  the  wires 
  34. must be replaced. Instructions for
  35. changing them are on each box.
